Yukito (affectionately called ‘To by close friends) was born in Hamamatsu, Japan which is known for its classical chamber music (traditional orchestras and bands). His mother left him and his father suddenly one night, leaving Shinobu to raise Yukito himself. Yukito grew up with a love for traditional chamber music, being in both orchestra and band in his high school as well as frequently leading his ensembles in the pieces. His father supported him, but was frequently worried for Yukito as being a music educator is not a profitable job for a young man. His father left for a long term business trip to the United States, which gave Yukito much more autonomy in his life but also left him without a grounding point. A couple months after his birthday, his director gifted him a conductor's baton as a present which is one of his most prized possessions, he passed later that year after battling illnesses. Yukito was devastated as his director was the only parental figure he felt he had and Yukito did not show his face for that entire summer. He wasn't ever a huge fan of the killing games but auditioned for the hell of it, he did his audition in the winter after his director died and wanted to be a character that only killed out of desperation instead of outward malice
